Dear Parents,

We know you've heard all the scary details about college costs and competitive admissions. We are parents and we've heard them all too so we decided to build some tools to help students and parents find and afford the right college for them.

A second reason for creating Kaarme was to build a college self help site where parents would be comfortable that their children's data would be protected and never be sold.

We don't do any college consulting or sell you any products. Kaarme just builds free software tools to help you connect with colleges, scholarships, and counselors.

What Kaarme Does For You:

Kaarme enables you and your children to do a few things related to college:

3. 3. Find Independent Counselors
4. 4. Build Student Resumes to send to colleges, link to, or view from anywhere on the Web.
5. 5. Create a Student Profile in the Kaarme database. These profiles are visible to all colleges searching for students on over 1000 categories.

These tools are free. Our scholarship and college search tools do not require a login. To protect your children's privacy, our student resume tools do require a login.

What Should You Do?

1. If they have not done so already, have your child complete the quick and easy Kaarme steps to begin their student resume BEFORE their Sophomore year begins. Colleges are constantly looking for students that are different. Remind your son/daughter to include as much information in their profile as possible to showcase their unique talents, aspirations, and versatility.

2. Work with your child to update their resume. It should reflect their current interests and past accomplishments. Your participation in this part of the college process is critical. Bookmark a link to the resume, view and discuss their progress regularly. Use this resume to email to colleges they would like to learn more about. A good student resume will get your child on the way to finding the right school and a means of paying for their education.
