For students who feel they need some extra help outside the college counseling resources offered at their high school, independent and private college counselors can prove to be helpful in attaining a student’s college aspirations.  Although the American School Counselor's Association recommends a high school student ratio of 250:1, the national average is unfortunately twice that at about 479 students for every counselor.  That being the case, a number of college-bound students turn to certified educational planners and college advisors as a means for detailed guidance and help with their college application.

We have organized over 800 independent and private college counselors into state directories with links to the independent college counseling company’s websites along with a means to contact the educational consultants. We also have created a directory for those counselors who specialize in Art, Learning Disabilities, International Students and Music to name a few.

Please email suggestions@kaarme.com if you know of a resource that we have not included.
